DOHA, Qatar, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Spain's Alvaro Quiros closed with a 3-under-par 69 Sunday and recorded a three-stroke victory at the European Tour's Qatar Masters golf tournament.

Five birdies on the back nine helped Quiros, the longest ball-striker on the tour, grab his third career tournament title.

"I wasn't hitting the ball well (today)," he said. "My strength was more in my mind than in my golf game."

Quiros' 72-hole total was 19-under 269, and his victory moved him into the world's top 30 players, which likely guarantees his debut at the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Ga., in April.

Sweden's Henrik Stenson (68) and South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen (71) finished in a tie for second place at 16-under 272, and at 13-under 275, Ireland's Damien McGrane was fourth.

It was Stenson's fifth straight top-seven finish at this event.

He was tied for the lead after Quiros bogeyed the 15th hole.

"I'm still happy with my performance today," Stenson said. "It's been another good week in Qatar."
