LA QUINTA, Calif., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Steve Stricker's 10-under-par 62 Saturday lifted him to a three-stroke lead in the fourth of five rounds at the PGA Bob Hope Classic in La Quinta, Calif.

The event is being played on four different courses near Palm Springs, Calif.

Stricker, the top-ranked player in the field at No. 16, is in position for his fifth tournament title on the PGA Tour. He played the fourth round on the PGA West Course, and his 62 followed a 9-under 61 on the same course Friday.

Stricker's 90-hole total, 33-under 255, established a PGA Tour record for scoring through four rounds.

"Everything was going well," he said. "I don't know what (else) to say."

Pat Perez, the leader after the first three rounds, shot his second straight 5-under 67 Saturday and, at 30-under 258, is alone in second place.

Three players -- Bubba Watson (63), Vaughn Taylor (68) and Robert Garrigus (66) -- are 26-under 262 to share third place.
