MEMPHIS, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Josh Boone keyed a 7-0 run in the fourth period Saturday night that fueled the New Jersey Nets' 99-88 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies.
When the run ended after Boone's layup, New Jersey held an 81-73 lead with 9:12 remaining. Memphis came within six points several times, but never went ahead.
Vince Carter led the winners with 23 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and five assists. Devin Harris scored 17 with eight assists.
Ryan Anderson had 12 points and nine rebounds, while both Keyon Dooling and Bobby Simmons scored 10 points for the Nets, who broke their five-game losing streak overall and a six-game road losing streak.
O.J. Mayo led Memphis with 23 points and three rebounds. Hakim Warrick scored 13 with five rebounds.
Rudy Gay had 12 points and seven rebounds, while Marc Gasol added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the Grizzlies' ninth straight loss, the second defeat under interim coach Johnny Davis.
Memphis is expected to name a new head coach Sunday.
