LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Eric Gordon survived a personal duel with Kevin Durant Friday and the Los Angeles Clippers hung on to down Oklahoma City 107-104.

Both Gordon, the Clippers' rookie point guard, and Durant, Oklahoma City's second-year inside threat, established career high point totals.

Gordon produced 41 points and helped bring the Clippers only their second win in 16 games. Durant scored 46 points and made 24-of-26 foul shots, but his three-point attempt failed to go with 5 seconds remaining.

A tip-in by Oklahoma City's Nick Collison brought the Thunder within three points with 37 seconds remaining and neither side scored the rest of the way.

Durant rebounded a missed jump shot by Cheikh Samb with 15 seconds to go and Los Angeles fouled Collison before he could get off a three-point attempt that could have tied it.

Collison missed his two foul shots, the second one on purpose, and Durant was able to grab the offensive rebound. But after Durant's three-point try failed, Samb claimed the defensive board that sealed the victory.

Oklahoma City had won four of its previous six games.

Al Thornton added 34 points for the Clippers, a season high for him.
