
MOBILE, Ala., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- West Virginia's Pat White passed for 95 yards and a touchdown Saturday to lead the South to a 35-18 Senior Bowl victory over the North at Mobile, Ala.
White, a native of the Mobile area, wound up the top running quarterback in major college football history. He was named the Senior Bowl MVP.
White threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Mike Wallace of Ole Miss in the third quarter.
Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson passed for 56 yards and scored on a 4-yard run in the first quarter.
The South led 21-10 at halftime and moved ahead 28-10 with White's TD pass.
The North closed to 28-18 early in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Eric Kettani of Navy and a 2-point conversion run by Jeremiah Johnson of Oregon. The game's final touchdown occurred with 8:47 remaining when Ole Miss tackle Peria Jerry recovered a fumble in the North end zone.
