CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Todd Bertuzzi produced the lone goal of a shootout Wednesday, giving Calgary a 5-4 victory over Columbus.
Calgary overcame a one-goal deficit on four occasions and tied the game the final time with 7:25 to play in regulation on Michael Cammalleri's second goal of the contest. It was his 22nd of the season.
Miikka Kiprusoff, who allowed four goals on 33 shots in regulation and overtime, was perfect in the shootout.
Bertuzzi was the third shooter for Calgary in the shootout and got the best of Steve Mason, who made 27 saves.
R.J. Umberger scored twice for Columbus, both his goals coming in the first period.
Calgary halted a two-game losing streak and avoided what would have been only its second three-game skid of the season.
This was the final game played before the NHL's All-Star break. The All-Star festivities will be held in Montreal this weekend.
