TORONTO, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Michael Ryder produced the deciding goal in a shootout Wednesday, giving Boston a 4-3 decision over Toronto.
The Bruins head into the All-Star break in a tie with San Jose for the largest point total in the NHL at 73.
Boston overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period to snap a two-game losing streak.
Dennis Wideman brought the Bruins within one early in the third and Zdeno Chara tied it with 5:53 to play in regulation. Both third-period goals came on the power play and were surrendered by Vesa Toskala.
Boston's Tim Thomas gave up three goals over the first two periods, but finished with 31 saves and shut down the Maple Leafs while his teammates were rallying in the third.
Ryder's goal came in the fourth round of the shootout after both teams had managed two goals in the first three rounds.
