NHL: Ottawa 3, Washington 2

OTTAWA, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Brendan Bell scored with 1:22 left in regulation Tuesday to deliver the Ottawa Senators a 3-2 victory over the Washington Capitals.

Dany Heatley scored the other two goals for Ottawa, which has won three of its last four games. Brian Elliot made 29 saves for the Senators.

Sergei Fedorov and David Steckel scored for the Capitals, who saw their three-game win streak end. Washington goes into the mid-season All-Star break with a 30-15-3 record and the lead in the Southeast Division.

Jose Theodore allowed three goals on 34 shots in the loss.
