NHL: Chicago 2, St. Louis 1 (OT)

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Martin Havlat scored 1:23 into overtime Saturday night to hand the Chicago Blackhawks a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues.

Brent Seabrook tried a shot from the left circle that Manny Legace stopped, but Havlat picked up the rebound, skated behind the net and put the puck in from the right side.

Troy Brouwer scored the other goal and Cristobal Huet stopped 27 shots for the Blackhawks, who have won three of their last four games.

David Backes scored the lone goal for St. Louis. Legace allowed both Chicago goals on 21 shots for the Blues, who have lost three of their last four games.
