AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Chris Paul had 23 points and 14 assists Saturday night to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a 91-85 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
David West added 20 points and seven rebounds for the Hornets. James Posey had 13 points and Tyson Chandler 11 points and 11 rebounds for New Orleans.
Richard Hamilton scored 19 points for Detroit, which has lost five straight games. Rodney Stuckey and Tayshaun Prince each had 13 points and Allen Iverson 12 for the Pistons.
The Hornets trailed by one point after three periods, but scored the first nine points of the fourth to take a 76-68 lead.
