MADISON, Wis., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Lawrence Westbrook forced overtime with a three-pointer and then made four clutch free throws to give No. 17 Minnesota a 78-74 victory over Wisconsin Thursday.
The Golden Gophers trailed by as many as 14 points before rallying for their fourth straight victory. Minnesota (16-1, 4-1 Big Ten) won in Madison for the first time in 15 years.
Westbrook scored a career-high 29 points and hit a three-point shot with 2 seconds to play in regulation that tied it at 62-62.
He then made two foul shots with 10 seconds left in the extra period that extended Minnesota's lead to four points and made two more with 4 seconds to go.
Devron Bostick and Damian Johnson had 11 points each for the Gophers, whose only loss this year came against Michigan State.
Wisconsin (12-5, 3-2) hit only 5-of-24 three-point shots. Marcus Landry paced the Badgers with 18 points.
