Tommie Harris' wife dies

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- T.J. Oshie blunted a Colorado comeback bid by scoring on the power play with 5:08 to play Thursday, boosting the St. Louis Blues past the Avalanche 5-2.
The Blues were coasting with a 3-0 lead in the third period, but Cody McLeod tipped in a goal and Milan Hejduk scored with 11:06 remaining, bringing the Avalanche within one.
Oshie then put a wrist shot past Peter Budaj to give the Blues some breathing room and David Backes added a shorthander into an empty net with 2:05 to go.
St. Louis, which had lost its previous two games, got 24 saves from Manny Legace.
Colorado has dropped two straight on the heels of a three-game winning streak.
Budaj gave up four goals on 25 shots.
