ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Pierre-Marc Bouchard had a goal and two assists Thursday night, helping the Minnesota Wild cruise to a 5-1 victory over Edmonton.

Niklas Backstrom recorded his 21st win of the season while stopping 20 shots. The Wild improved to 2-0 on its three-game homestand.

Krystofer Kolanos, Cal Clutterbuck, Brent Burns and Eric Belanger delivered the rest of the Minnesota goals.

Liam Reddox had the lone score for Edmonton, which had won its previous two games.

Clutterbuck scored the game-winner, giving Minnesota a 2-1 lead with 65 seconds left in the opening period. He took a pass from Bouchard and fired a rising wrist shot over the shoulder of Dwayne Roloson, who allowed five goals on 24 shots.

Edmonton has lost its last eight trips to Minnesota and has recorded only 10 goals in those games.
