ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Daniel Cleary and Johan Franzen scored 27 seconds apart in the third period Wednesday, rallying Detroit past Anaheim 4-3.
The Red Wings, who had a six-game winning streak snapped in an overtime setback against Dallas Monday, have recorded at least a point in nine straight games.
Cleary tied it 9:40 into the third and Franzen quickly provided the game-winner on a controversial goal.
He tipped a shot past Jean-Sebastien Giguere and the goal withstood a video review despite protests from Anaheim that Franzen's stick was above the crossbar when it came in contact with the puck.
Chris Osgood made 23 saves to get the victory in what was the second contest in a six-game road trip.
Anaheim took a 2-1 lead after one period, getting goals from Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry during the final 3 minutes of the frame. Jiri Hudler tied it with a power-play goal 2:49 into the second, but Steve Montador put Anaheim back in front with 8:32 to play in the period.
