SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Roger Mason converted a three-point play with 10 seconds remaining Wednesday, giving San Antonio a dramatic 112-111 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers' Kobe Bryant and the Spurs' Tim Duncan dueled down the stretch and it appeared Bryant had given Los Angeles its fifth straight win when he hit a three-pointer with 12 seconds to play.

That gave Los Angeles a 111-109 lead, but Mason followed by hitting a jump shot as he was being fouled by Derek Fisher. Mason's free throw put San Antonio in front and Trevor Ariza traveled on the Lakers' ensuing possession, costing the Lakers a chance at a winning shot.

In the final 3 minutes, Bryant had two assists and scored five points. He finished with 29 points and 10 assists. Duncan, who scored 20, made two straight field goals that gave the Spurs a 109-108 lead with 28 seconds to play.

Manu Ginobili scored 27 for the Spurs and Tony Parker had 20.

It was the Lakers' seventh loss this season, one more than the Cleveland Cavaliers.
