ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Swedes Mikael Lundberg and Johan Edfors carded 6-under-par 66s Thursday to share the lead in the incomplete first round of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship.

Hailstorms caused a lengthy delay that left some players on the course when play in the European Tour event was suspended for the day.

Among others who completed their rounds, Oliver Fisher, Jarmo Sandelin and Francesco Molinari were at 67 and defending champion Martin Kaymer was in a group at 68.

Edfors, a three-time winner on the European Tour, said: "I played really nicely today. I gave myself a lot of good birdie opportunities and holed a few good putts. I'm really happy with the way I'm playing."

Lundberg has won twice on the tour.
