Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Washington Wizards center Etan Thomas, who missed last season after open heart surgery, is out indefinitely with a knee ligament injury.
The 6-foot-10 center tore the MCL in his left knee in a loss to Milwaukee Monday, the club announced Tuesday.
His status will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
The seven-year veteran is averaging 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in 26 games this season for the Eastern-Conference worst Wizards.
