Two college coaches hurt in hotel fall

NASHVILLE, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Two college football coaches are recovering from what Nashville police said was a wrestling match that ended with them falling out a fourth-floor hotel window.

Scott Coy and Darren DeMeio of Westminster College in Pennsylvania were attending a coaching convention when some late-night roughhousing got out of hand in a room at the Gaylord Opryland Resort.

Coy was listed in critical condition Wednesday while DeMeio was in stable condition, WSMV-TV, Nashville, reported.

Police said the two coaches were clad only in boxer shorts when they plowed through the window early Tuesday.

"These are really substantial, weather-resistant, double-paned plate glass windows. So (it's a) very strange, unusual occurrence for someone to literally come crashing through them," hotel spokeswoman Kim Keelor told the television station.
