LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Tampa Bay goalie Mike Smith turned back 29 of 30 shots Monday, leading the Lightning to a 3-1 victory over the host Los Angeles Kings.

Vincent Lecavalier notched a goal and an assist while Mark Recchi and Evgeny Artyukhin scored first-period goals for the Lightning, who improved to 3-1 on a West Coast road trip following Friday's win in Anaheim. The Lightning finish the trip Tuesday in San Jose.

The Bolts have won five of their last seven road games, raising their away record to 9-12-3.

Peter Harrold got the lone score for the Kings, who were coming off a blowout loss to visiting New Jersey and have dropped three of four games, including nine of 13 overall. Kings goalie Erik Ersberg was pulled in the second period after allowing his third goal on just seven shots.
