Ogilvy's win puts him in golf's Top 10

VIRGINIA WATER, England, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- A season-opening victory in the Mercedes-Benz Championship catapulted Geoff Ogilvy into the Top 10 of the world golf rankings Monday.

Ogilvy shot up five places to No. 6.

Tiger Woods, who hasn't played for months since having knee surgery after his U.S. Open win in 2008, is still No. 1. Sergio Garcia held on to No. 2, while Padraig Harrington and Phil Mickelson exchanged places at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, and Vijay Singh stayed No. 5.

Robert Karlsson and Camilo Villegas moved down one slot each to seventh and eighth. Anthony Kim advanced three places to ninth, kicking Ernie Els to 10th and Lee Westwood to 11th.

Henrik Stenson slipped four spots to 12th, while Jim Furyk and Kenny Perry stayed at 13th and 14th. Steve Stricker rose two places to 15th, Stewart Cink remained 16th, K.J. Choi was up one place to 17th, Adam Scott dropped three to 18th, and Justin Rose and Trevor Immelman rounded out the Top 20 again.
