NHL: Chicago 3, Nashville 1

CHICAGO, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Chicago goalie Nikolai Khabibulin held Nashville scoreless the last two periods while the Blackhawks scored twice Sunday and beat the Predators 3-1.

Khabibulin finished with 26 saves, including 12 in the third period.

After a 1-1 first period, Chicago's Dave Bolland scored the goal that turned out to be the game-winner with 5:58 left in the second. Martin Havlat added an empty-netter with 10 seconds left in the game.

Chicago's Dustin Byfuglien and Nashville's Martin Erat scored the first-period goals.

Predators' goalie Dan Ellis blocked 30 shots.
