NHL: Boston 5, Carolina 1

BOSTON, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Michael Ryder scored twice and David Krejci had a goal and two assists for the Boston Bruins Saturday in a 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Bruins got all their goals in the first two periods while goalie Tim Thomas held Carolina scoreless.

Mark Stuart and Stephane Yelle added goals for the Bruins in their second straight win.

Thomas ended up with 29 saves.

Justin Williams scored the Carolina goal with 6:07 left in the game.
