Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MINNEAPOLIS, Wis., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Rodney Carney scored 22 points Saturday to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 106-104 victory over Milwaukee.
Carney hit four three-pointers to help the Timberwolves extend their season-high winning streak to five games. Al Jefferson added 20 points and seven rebounds and Sebastian Telfair had 17 points and 11 assists.
Ryan Gomes had 16 points for Minnesota and Randy Foye scored 10 of his 11 points in the fourth quarter.
Michael Redd scored 32 points and Richard Jefferson 29 for Milwaukee. Bucks center Andrew Bogut returned after a four-game absence because of a back injury, and added 14 points and seven rebounds.
