COL BKB: Tennessee 86, Georgia 77

ATHENS, Ga., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Tyler Smith's 24 points led 25th-ranked Tennessee over Georgia 86-77 Saturday in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams.

Tennessee trailed by four points with just over 5 minutes remaining but caught up and went ahead for good with a rally that featured a 3-pointer by Cameron Tatum and baskets by Wayne Chism and Smith.

Bobby Maze added 16 points and Tatum 13 for the Volunteers (10-4, 1-0 SEC).

Terrance Woodbury scored 18 points, Trey Thompkins 14 and Dustin Ware 11 for the Bulldogs (9-7, 0-1).
