UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Penn State University officials said the glasses were stolen from a statue of football head coach Joe Paterno outside of Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pa.

The officials said the glasses were taken at some point between Friday morning and Saturday morning from the statue, which was built to commemorate Paterno's record at the school, WJAC-TV, Johnstown, Pa., reported Tuesday.

Paterno, who became head coach in 1966, was dubbed the NCAA Division I-A all-time victories leader with 324 wins.
