COL BKB: Connecticut 61, W. Virginia 55

MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Jeff Adrien and Hasheem Thabeet combined for 30 points and 20 rebounds Tuesday, helping fifth-ranked Connecticut beat No. 22 West Virginia 61-55.

Adrien had 17 points, and Thabeet 13 points and 13 rebounds for UConn (13-1, 2-1 Big East).

Stanley Robinson had 15 rebounds as the Huskies held a 52-33 edge on the backboard.

De'Sean Butler, in foul trouble for most of the game, scored 13 points for West Virginia (11-3, 1-1), which had its five-game winning streak stopped. Alex Ruoff also had 13 points for the Mountaineers.
