NHL: Dallas 3, Vancouver 2 (SO)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Dallas Stars winger James Neal drove in the winning shoot-out goal Sunday for a 3-2 victory over the home-ice Vancouver Canucks.

Kyle Wellwood and Darcy Hordichuk scored first-period goals for Vancouver, while Mike Modano and Mike Ribeiro scored the Stars' regular-time goals in the first and second periods.

Goaltender Jason LaBarbera made 34 saves for Vancouver, while the Stars' Marty Turco stopped 33 of 35 shots. Turco has won eight of his last 10 starts.

The Canucks are 11-7-1 at home at General Motors Place this year, while Dallas is 8-10-2 on the road.
