LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 26 points and the Los Angeles Lakers held Portland to 36 second-half points Sunday in a 100-86 win over the Trail Blazers.
The Lakers outscored Portland 30-16 in the third quarter, and went on to win their sixth straight game and improve their NBA-best record to 27-5.
Pau Gasol shot 7-of-9 from the field to finish with 19 points. Vladimir Radmanovic scored 16 and Sasha Vujacic had 11 for LA.
The Blazers, playing for a third consecutive game without Brandon Roy (hamstring), got 22 points and 11 rebounds from LaMarcus Aldridge. Nicolas Batum scored 17 for Portland, which shot just 39 percent from the field.
Portland jumped out to an early lead and was up 25-19 after one quarter, but the Lakers staged an 8-2 run to close out the first half and take a 51-50 lead at intermission. With Portland's shooting touch nowhere to be found in the third, the Lakers went on a 13-2 tear and took control of the game.
