MONTREAL, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Montreal's Andrei Markov got the only goal of a shootout Sunday and the Canadians won for the fourth time in five games, downing the Florida Panthers 6-5.

Markov, following failed attempts by five other shooters, backhanded the puck past Florida goalie Craig Anderson.

Andrei Kostitsyn notched two goals, and Francis Bouillon, Tom Kostopoulos and Robert Lang had one each for Montreal, which rallied from an early two-goal deficit.

Radek Dvorak scored twice, and Jassen Cullimore, David Booth and Brett McLean had a goal apiece for Florida, which has dropped five of six contests.

Montreal goalie Jaroslav Halak turned back 30 shots and Anderson stopped 40.
