COL BKB: Duke 69, Virginia Tech 44

DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Kyle Singler led Duke with 19 points Sunday and the No. 5 Blue Devils extended their winning steak to four games with a 69-44 victory over Virginia Tech.

Duke led by eight points at halftime and then outscored Tech 30-13 the rest of the way in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams.

Gerald Henderson added 15 points, Nolan Smith had 13 and John Scheyer scored 11 for Duke (12-1, 1-0 ACC).

Malcolm Delaney had 12 points for the Hokies (9-5, 0-1), who had won their previous four games.
