COL BKB: Michigan St. 77, Northwestern 66

EVANSTON, Ill., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Raymar Morgan had 22 points and 13 rebounds Saturday to lead the 15th-ranked Michigan State Spartans to a 77-66 win over Northwestern.

Chris Allen and Kalin Lucas each added 17 points and Lucas had nine assists for the Spartans (11-2, 2-0 Big Ten), who have won seven straight since losing to top-ranked North Carolina.

Kevin Coble scored 17 points for the Wildcats (8-4, 0-2), who have lost three of their last four games. Craig Moore made four three-pointers en route to a 16-point performance.

Michigan State maintained about a 10-point edge throughout most of the second half.
