STORRS, Conn., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Hasheem Thabeet had 15 points and eight rebounds Saturday to lead second-ranked Connecticut to an 80-49 win over Rutgers.
Jerome Dyson added 14 points for the Huskies (12-1, 1-1 Big East), who suffered their first loss of the season to eighth-ranked Georgetown Monday. Jeff Adrien added 13 points while Stanley Robinson had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Greg Echenique had 17 points for the Scarlet Knights (9-6, 0-2), who have lost three straight games to the three top-ranked school in the nation -- No. 1 North Carolina, No. 3 Pittsburgh and UConn.
