DALLAS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Jevan Snead threw three touchdown passes Friday to lead No. 24 Ole Miss to a surprising 47-34 Cotton Bowl win over eighth-ranked Texas Tech.
It gave the Rebels a season-ending five-game winning streak.
The sophomore from Stephenville, Texas, tossed the scoring passes in the first half on the way to completing 18-of-29 passes for 292 yards with one interception.
Cornerback Marshay Green scored on a 65-yard third quarter interception return, and had a long punt return for a touchdown nullified when he stepped out of bounds.
Brandon Bolden scored once on 11 carries for 101 yards, and Dexter McCluster scored once on 14 carries for 97 yards for the Rebels (9-4), who were 4 1/2-point underdogs.
Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns.
His effort included two interceptions and the NCAA's all-time leadership in touchdown passes (134).
Wide receivers Edward Britton and Eric Morris combined for three touchdowns for the Red Raiders (11-2), who split their final four games.
