NHL: Detroit 6, Chicago 4

CHICAGO, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Detroit scored the final five goals Thursday on the way to a 6-4 win over the Blackhawks at the NHL's Winter Classic, played at Chicago's Wrigley Field.

Chicago grabbed a 3-1 lead after one period, but Detroit erupted for three goals in the second to lead, 4-3, entering the third.

Jiri Hudler led Detroit with two goals and one assist. Brian Rafalski had a goal and two assists. Three others scored once.

Henrik Zetterberg and Marian Hossa both had three assists, while netminder Ty Conklin surrendered four goals on 37 shots for the Red Wings, who completed a home-and-home sweep.

They beat Chicago, 4-0, at home Tuesday night.

Martin Havlat led Chicago with a goal and two assists.

Three others also scored once, while goalies Christobal Huet and Nikolai Khabibulin yielded a combined six goals on 43 shots in the Blackhawks' second straight loss following a franchise-record nine-game winning streak.

Detroit went 3-for-6 on the power play, and Chicago was 2-for-5.
