EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Brian Lee scored his first NHL goal on the power play in the third period Tuesday, lifting the Ottawa Senators to a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Lee's slap shot in traffic, with Sheldon Souray in the penalty box for holding, beat Mathieu Garon at the 11:32 mark of the period. Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza also scored for the Senators, who halted a three-game losing streak.

Martin Gerber turned back 20 Edmonton shots in the win, which ended Ottawa's 12-game road winless skid. The Senators hadn't won on the road since Oct. 30.

Liam Reddox and Ethan Moreau scored for the Oilers, whose three-game win streak ended. Garon allowed three goals on 25 shots in the loss.
