DALLAS, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Loui Eriksson scored the first and last goals of the game Wednesday and Dallas rallied for a 4-2 victory over New Jersey.

Eriksson delivered a shorthanded goal in the first period, only to see the Devils take a 2-1 advantage at the end of the frame.

After the Stars went in front on second-period goals by Landon Wilson and Mark Parrish, Eriksson scored an empty-netter to ensure the victory.

Dallas, which has spent much of the season in the Western Conference cellar, has won three out of four and five out of seven.

Brad Richards had three assists for the Stars and Marty Turco made 25 saves. The New Jersey goals came from Mike Mottau and David Clarkson. Scott Clemmensen stopped 40 of 43 shots.

It was the first time New Jersey had not picked up a point in seven road games. The Devils are 10-5-2 on the road this season.
