NEW YORK, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner is the NFC offensive player of the week for the NFL's last regular season contests in 2008.

The five-year veteran from Northern Illinois rushed for 208 yards Sunday, the second-highest single-game total in team history, and one touchdown in the Falcons' 31-27 win over St. Louis.

In all, he rushed for 1,699 yards, the second-most in the NFL, and scored a franchise-record 17 touchdowns (all rushing).

Other NFC honorees were Philadelphia end Chris Clemmons (defense) and Minnesota placekicker Ryan Longwell (special teams).

Clemons equaled a career-high with two sacks and returned a fumble 73 yards for a third quarter touchdown in a 44-6 rout of the Cowboys, giving the Eagles an NFC wild card berth and eliminating Dallas.

Longwell's 50-yard fourth quarter field goal, his second of the game, gave the Vikings the NFC North Division title with their 20-19 victory against the New York Giants.
