COL FB: LSU 38, LSU 3

ATLANTA, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Charles Scott ran for three touchdowns Wednesday and LSU scored 28 points in the second quarter to rout Georgia Tech 38-3 in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

The defending national champion Tigers finished their season at 8-5 after opening the campaign with four straight victories.

Jordan Jefferson completed 16 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown and LSU gained possession in Georgia Tech's end of the field three times in the second period to turn the game into a blowout.

Scott produced the Tigers' first three touchdowns with none of the scoring runs being longer than 4 yards.

Jefferson hit Richard Dickson with a 25-yard scoring pass to make it a 28-3 game. Keiland Williams ran 17 yards for a touchdown with 1:27 to play in the second quarter, giving the Tigers a 35-3 advantage at the break.

Georgia Tech quarterback Josh Nesbitt completed just eight passes. The Yellow Jackets finished the year at 9-4.
