NHL: Boston 5, Pittsburgh 2

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Boston used a goal and two assists each from Marc Savard and Dennis Wideman to knock off Pittsburgh 5-2 Tuesday for its first nine-game win streak in 25 years.

Zdeno Chara had a goal and an assist, and Martin St. Pierre and Phil Kessel each had a goal for the Bruins, who last won nine straight in January 1983. Tim Thomas made 32 saves in the victory.

Pascal Dupuis and Petr Sykora each had a goal for the Penguins, who have lost three of four. Marc-Andre Fleury was charged with all five goals on 40 shots.
