
HOUSTON, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Antawn Jamison had 30 points and 12 rebounds Monday night to lead the Washington Wizards to an 89-87 win over Houston.
Andray Blatche finished with 16 points and eight rebounds for Washington, which won its second straight game following an eight-game losing streak.
Ron Artest led Houston with 20 points. Luis Scola scored 16 points and Tracy McGrady had 15 points for the Rockets, who have lost three of their last four games.
The Wizards carried a 10 point lead into the fourth quarter but Houston pulled off an 11-0 run and led the game 75-74 with just over nine minutes left to play. Jamison hit two foul shots with just over three minutes left to put the Wizards up 86-85 and DeShawn Stevenson's jumper made it 88-85 heading into the final minute.
