COL BKB: Ariz. St. 84, Cent. Conn. St. 47

TEMPE, Ariz., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- James Harden had 24 points and six assists Monday night to lead No. 14 Arizona State past Central Connecticut State 84-47.

Ty Abbott scored 15 and Jeff Pendergraph had 14 points for the Sun Devils (11-1), who won their seventh straight game.

Ken Horton led the Blue Devils (5-6) with 12 points.

Central Connecticut hung close with Arizona State at the outset, trailing by just a point after 5:18, but the Sun Devils put together a 14-2 run to take control. The Sun Devils pulled away after that, and led 71-27 with 13 minutes left in the game.
