SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Former NFL wide receiver Andre Rison was arrested for public drunkenness at a San Antonio hotel.

Rison, who was selected for the Pro Bowl five times in the 1990s, was detained after police responded to a call about a public disturbance at 2 a.m. Monday, KENS-TV, San Antonio, reported. He was at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk.

He paid a fine and was released at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Rison has been arrested several times for failure to pay child support and spent about three weeks in jail in December 2004.

During his 11 seasons in the NFL, Rison's best years were with the Atlanta Falcons. He also played for the Indianapolis Colts, the Cleveland Browns, the Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.

He also played in the Canadian Football League from 2001 to 2004.

Rison now teaches at football camps, his Web site says.
