WASHINGTON, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Free-agent pitcher Daniel Cabrera officially said 'so long' to Baltimore Monday, signing a one-year contract with Washington for $2.6 million.
Cabrera, a 27-year-old right-hander whose season ended in September with elbow pain, passed a mandatory physical.
Baltimore didn't offer him a contact.
Cabrera was 8-10 with a 5.25 earn-run average in 30 starts last season. He broke into the big leagues with the Orioles in 2004 and has a career mark of 48-59 with a 5.05 ERA.
