ATLANTA, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- A goal by Michael Ryder with 6:04 to play was the game-winner for the streaking Boston Bruins in a 2-1 victory Sunday over the Atlanta Thrashers.

Boston has won eight straight games and 13 of 14. It's the team's longest winning streak since March 30-April 14, 1993, when the Bruins won eight straight.

Phil Kessel got Boston's other goal and Manny Fernandez picked up the win with 32 blocked shots.

Bryan Little scored Atlanta's goal.
