SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Joe Nedney's 39-yard field goal as time expired Sunday gave the San Francisco 49ers a 27-24 victory over the Washington Redskins.
Nedney's kick capped a 73-yard drive that included Shaun Hill passes to Jason Hill, Michael Robinson and Bryant Johnson.
Shaun Hill finished 21-of-30 passing for 245 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a score.
San Francisco (7-9) won four of its last five games under Mike Singletary, who was named interim coach in October when the team fired Mike Nolan. The 49ers Sunday made Singletary head coach on a permanent basis with a reported four-year deal.
Jason Campbell passed for 156 yards and a touchdown and ran for another TD for the Redskins (8-8), losers of four of their last five contests.
