ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., Dec. 28 (UPI) -- LaMont Jordan and Stephen Gostkowski did New England's scoring Sunday in a 13-0 win over Buffalo, but the Patriots missed the playoffs despite winning 11 games.

New England needed either a New York Jets win or Baltimore loss to get into the post-season. But Miami beat the Jets 24-17 and the Ravens knocked off Jacksonville 27-7.

The Patriots (11-5) are the first 11-win team to miss the playoffs since Denver in 1985.

Jordan ran 2 yards for a touchdown and Gostkowski kicked field goals of 33 and 23 yards in a contest played in swirling winds.

Sammy Morris rushed for 85 yards and Matt Cassel passed for 78 yards in the fourth straight win for the Patriots.

Trent Edwards completed 14 passes for 128 yards and Fred Jackson ran for 136 yards for the Bills (7-9).
