NEW YORK, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Travis Zajac had a goal and two assists Saturday night to lead the New Jersey Devils past the New York Rangers 4-2.
Zach Parise and Patrik Elias had a goal and an assist each, and Brian Rolston scored for the Devils, who were coming off two straight shutouts. Scott Clemmensen stopped 31 shots for New Jersey.
Nigel Dawes and Dmitri Kalinin scored goals and Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves on 35 shots for New York, which has lost three straight games following a three-game winning streak.
The Devils opened the scoring at 2:54 of the first period when Rolston scored on the power play. It was New Jersey's first goal since a Dec. 21 shootout win over the Flyers -- ending a scoreless streak that stretched back 159:18.
New Jersey went up 2-0 at 4:14 of the first when Elias scored with the Devils down a man. The Rangers scored a minute later on the same power-play chance when Dawes picked up a carom in front of the goal and beat Clemmensen with a backhander.
Zajac tipped in a rebound of Elias' shot at 11:12 of the second to score what turned out to be the winning goal.
