
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Steve Mason made 20 saves Saturday night for his third NHL shutout and the Columbus Blue Jackets beat Philadelphia 3-0.
Jan Hejda, Andrew Murray and Manny Malhotra scored for the Blue Jackets, who won for the first time in four games.
Antero Niittymaki made 30 saves for the Flyers, who are 0-2 thus far on a six-game road trip -- and lost for the first time ever to Columbus.
Hejda opened the scoring for Columbus with an unassisted goal at 3:22 of the first period and Murray scored on the power play at 18:08 of the first, with assists from R.J. Umberger and Kris Russell. Malhotra wrapped up the scoring at 7:39 of the second period, with assists by Rick Nash and Kristian Huselius.
Columbus held the Flyers to just four shots on goal in the third period.
