COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Alex Ruoff scored 17 points Saturday, pacing the West Virginia Mountaineers' 76-48 upset of the 13th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.
Da'Sean Butler had 16 points and six rebounds for the Mountaineers (10-2), who have won four straight games.
William Buford and Jeremie Simmons each had 11 points for the Buckeyes (9-1), who suffered their first loss this season and had a 12- game unbeaten streak at home stopped.
West Virginia trailed early in the first half before scoring 11 unanswered points. West Virginia led 35-28 at halftime.
The Mountaineers took control of the game midway through the second half when a 13-2 spurt gave them a 58-40.
