COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Two Philadelphia Flyers players were injured as the team began a road trip by losing 5-1 to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Defenseman Kimmo Timonen suffered a chipped bone in his right ankle that is expected to sideline him for at least a week. Forward Scott Hartnell broke a big toe while blocking a shot.

Hartnell was considered unlikely to play Saturday in Columbus. His condition was to be reconsidered day to day.
